Artist Statement
Sarah and I have always been passionate about the world of cinema and everything surrounding it. From directing to editing to acting, creating and appreciating films is where our heart is at. Ever since our first semester at Dawson we talked about how fun it would be to work on a project together but never really had the chance to do so. So, when we learned that we would be in the same integrating activity class we jumped to the occasion of making a movie together. For us, it was important that this project would showcase not only our creativity but also our skills in different departments. For Sarah editing and filming is what she excels at and knows best and for me acting and writing is what I stand out in and so we combined our strengths to come up with “It Was All a Dream” which we couldn’t be prouder of. While this project was harder than expected with the current ongoing pandemic, we found that we worked efficiently together and there was never a dull moment which made the overall experience very enjoyable. Sarah and I have a very similar taste in art and so coming up with the theme and the overall aesthetic and story was a piece of cake. Doing this movie made us realize how much we like what we do. Despite the challenges and frustrations, the passion that we have for cinema overshadows the rest and makes us want to keep on creating.
