Integrating Activity 2021

My art is focused on landscape photography and poetry writing. It is done through 35mm coloured film. I also experiment by trying to add doodles of colour and different shapes to heighten the feeling I am trying to convey in the picture. The poetry is centered on free verse writing, not necessarily following any structure or rhyming scheme. The theme I am trying to establish in my writing is the long lasting effect that childhood has on our identity; we have always been and always will be a young child at heart. The reason behind my use of film instead of digital is because it paints a feeling of nostalgia and melancholy for me, which is a parallel to the core of my work. Photography also has an effect of singularity as the moment being captured cannot be replicated. As for my writing, poetry resonates with me since you can unpack more meaning and symbolism in less words.
